Welcome to the Bahá’í Media Uploader

Thank you for contributing to bahai.media, a central repository for images, audio, video, and documents related to the Bahá’í Faith. Before uploading, please review our guidelines to ensure your file can be hosted here.

What you CAN upload

  • Official Bahá’í Sources: Media from official institutions and agencies (such as the Bahá’í World News Service, the Bahá’í Media Bank, or National Spiritual Assemblies) that is released for non-commercial use or has specific permission to be hosted on bahai.media.
  • Your Own Work: Original photographs, videos, or artwork that you created yourself (for example, your own photos of Bahá’í Houses of Worship, holy places, or local community events).
  • Public Domain Media: Historical photographs, documents, or media where the copyright has expired, or works explicitly released into the public domain.
  • Permitted Third-Party Works: Media where the copyright holder has explicitly granted permission for use under a free license, non-commercial license, or specifically for bahai.media.

What you CANNOT upload

  • Unlicensed Web Finds: Images found via search engines (like Google Images) or social media without clear copyright and licensing information.
  • Unauthorized Copyrighted Material: Commercial media, book scans, or professional photography where the creator has reserved all rights ("All Rights Reserved") and has not granted permission for reuse.
  • Portraits of Central Figures: In accordance with Bahá’í guidelines, photographs or depictions of Bahá’u’lláh and the Báb should not be uploaded.

Best Practices

  • Descriptive Filenames: Choose clear, descriptive titles (e.g., Wilmette_House_of_Worship_exterior_2023.jpg instead of IMG_1234.jpg).
  • Source & Author Information: Be prepared to provide the exact source URL, the creator's name, and the appropriate license during the Release rights and Describe steps.
  • Categories: Add relevant categories in the final step so others can easily find the media.
