Bahaimedia:Custom reference templates

When you upload an image from a periodical or book you must link to the source document where you found that image. This enables users to see the image in its broader context, but also helps us ensure licensing templates are correct and files are being properly categorized. We have created a number of templates which will enable you to quickly create a link back to a source documents. These templates are specific to the publications they reference.

Reference Bahá’í News

Template:Bns accepts two inputs, the issue number and the page number where the image is located. For example to create a link to Bahá’í News Issue 300 page 6 type {{bns|300|6}}

This template will automatically categorize the file into the category for issue 300 of Bahá’í News so you do not need to add that separately. For an example of this template in use see this file.

Reference Bahá’í World

Template:Bws accepts two inputs, the volume number and the page number where the image is located. For example to create a link to Bahá’í World Volume 6, page 579 type {{bws|6|579}}

This template will automatically categorize the file into the category for Volume 6 of Bahá’í World so you do not need to add that separately. For an example of this template in use see this file.

Reference Bahá’í World News Service

Template:Bwn accepts one input, the article number matching the URL https://news.bahai.org/story/1350/. For example to create a link to article 1350 type {{bwn|1350}}

This template will automatically categorize the file into the category for that article on the Bahá’í World News Service so you do not need to add it manually. For an example of this template in use see this file.
