Caption | Temple landscaping progress, showing the first trees planted September 5th. There are nine trees on either side of the double walk, and there will be eighteen on either side of the long approach, 32 of which are now planted. This picture was taken from the Gallery level of the Temple, looking down the long approach to the Temple from the corner of Sheridan Road and Linden Avenue. At the bottom is shown a section of the curved walk encircling the base of the Temple stairs. The oval block in the center is the platform of the stairs descending to the approach. The pair of steps to right and left are the stairways descending to the gardens on either side of the sidewalks, and the long rectangle between the two walkways will, in the future, be a reflecting pool. |
