Caption Governor John Waihee of Hawaii signs a proclamation designating September 17 World Peace Day in that state. With the governor are (left to right) Gary Morrison, secretary of the National Spiritual Assembly of Hawaii; Tony Pelle, the national Public Information Officer; and Rosina Korean, secretary of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Marshall Islands. Expressing his warmest regards for the Bahá'ís, Gov. Waihee said, "Every year ... this (World Peace Day) is one of my favorites." When he learned that Ms. Korean was from the Marshalls, he kissed her.
