Caption 4. Under the shade of God’s Love? Clyde Williams of Detroit, Michigan, with the daughter of the innkeeper in Schaffhausen. The little girl kept asking Clyde in the local dialect, “Doesn’t the sun bother you? Are you not hot?” He did not understand the language, so he simply smiled at her. She ran back into the house and got her mother’s umbrella, which she opened, attempting to keep the sun off him, but all she accomplished was to repeatedly stick him in the eye with the corners of the umbrella. Clyde reached down, scooped her up, placed her on his lap, and they both happily listened to the speaker with no further interruption.
