File info[edit]
Caption | The House of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, which was His official residence from 1897 to 1908, and in which Shoghi Effendi was born, is shown in this aerial photograph of the north-western quarter of the city of ‘Akká. The borders of the extensive property are outlined in white. It is known locally as the House of ‘Abdu’lláh Páshá and it was here that ‘Abdu’l-Bahá received the pilgrims, including that first group from the West (who arrived on 10 December 1898). Seen nearby are the prison citadel with the windows of Bahá’u’lláh’s cell clearly visible, the barracks square, and the mosque of Jazzár. |
